Test your website speed

Test your website speed

Check the loading time of your website with these tools

What is fast and what is slow? Three seconds. A loading time of fewer than 3 seconds is recommended. Make that your goal.

According to Google’s survey of average mobile speed across all industries, only a fraction of websites are close to their recommended speed.
So, if you optimize the speed of your website to the direction that 3 seconds, you have a mega ranking advantage over competitors.

There are several tools worth trying:

  • Google Pagespeed Insights is a free tool from Google that performs a performance test on your site and provides recommendations on how to improve it. It works for both desktop and mobile versions.
  • Pingdom is a great tool in my opinion. You can expand the results and view them per part.
  • Gtmetrix works more or less like Pingdom

Once you’ve tested the speed of your website, you can start optimizing it.

The ways to optimize your website are very different. Sometimes the solution to one problem can negatively impact another part of your site. That’s why I recommend that you test the speed of the website again after every change to determine which actions give the best results.

I have listed the points that you can check and improve in the following article.

You can easily check the speed yourself. But then making improvements is a step that not every entrepreneur has the skills to do in-house or is willing to spend the time on. Unfortunately, it is also not self-evident that every web builder can cope with optimizing loading time.
